Why Is Dental Treatment Cheaper in Turkey? What Your Quote Should Include

Short answer: dental treatment in Turkey costs less mainly because running a clinic costs less — rent, salaries, lab fees and taxes — not because the materials are different. Independent 2026 guides commonly report savings of around 60–70% against UK private prices. The smart question isn't "how cheap?" but "what exactly am I paying for?"

Where the price difference really comes from

  • Lower running costs. Rent, staff and lab work cost much less in Turkey than in London, Dublin or Munich.

  • In-house or local labs. Crowns and veneers are made nearby, without import mark-ups.

  • Scale. Istanbul clinics treat many international patients, so they invest in scanners and digital workflows that pay off faster.

  • Exchange rates. The euro and pound go further against the Turkish lira.

What should not be different: the implant brand, the ceramic, the sterilisation and the dentist's skill. If a price is far below the market, one of those is usually where the saving comes from.

The hidden costs nobody puts in the advert

A cheap headline price can grow fast. Watch for extras charged separately: X-rays and 3D scans, extractions, bone grafts, temporary teeth, abutments (the connector on an implant), hotel and airport transfers. And remember the biggest hidden cost of all: fixing poor work later. A BDA survey found nearly two-thirds of UK dentists said patients paid at least £500 for remedial work after treatment abroad.

8 things every quote must show

Dentist reviewing an X-ray with a patient before writing a treatment quote
  1. Treatment per tooth (veneer, crown, implant, nothing)

  2. Material for each item (e.g. E-max, zirconia)

  3. Implant brand and abutment type

  4. Scans, X-rays and extractions — included or extra

  5. Temporary teeth between trips — included or extra

  6. Number of trips and days in Istanbul

  7. Hotel, transfers and translator — included or extra

  8. Guarantee terms and aftercare

Two quotes are only comparable when all eight lines match.

How we quote at Lamis Clinic

We don't publish price lists, because a price before a diagnosis is a guess. After our dentists review your photos and X-rays, you receive a written, itemised plan covering the eight points above, so there are no surprises in the chair.

Included in every Lamis Clinic dental package, at no extra cost:

  • X-rays and 3D CBCT scans

  • Hotel accommodation

  • Airport and clinic transfers

  • A translator and patient coordinator

  • Temporary teeth, when your treatment needs them

So when you compare our plan with another clinic's, check whether theirs includes the same five.

Questions patients ask us

Is cheap dental work in Turkey bad? Not by default. But a price far below the market means something was removed — a step, a material or the aftercare. Ask which.

Do I pay a deposit? Ask any clinic for its deposit and refund policy in writing before you book flights.

Can I use my insurance? Most European dental plans don't cover treatment abroad, but some reimburse part of it. Check with your insurer and ask us for an itemised invoice.
